Pixel Jockey is a website I made consisting of various interactive pieces. You can make the internet rain, blow virtual bubbles or make music. The aim being to just waste a bit of time on the internet by playing with no goals – to create your own unique pixels and enjoy the ‘sweet spot’ between constraints and freedom.
‘Smelling a rose or appreciating a tree blown around by a gentle wind is a waste of time, but we don’t think of it as a ‘waste’ but a wonderful ‘plus’ to our lives. Enjoying life is a waste of time, but it’s really the meaning of life so it’s a great way to waste it.’
– John Maeda (King of interactive graphics) when i interviewed him.
Pixel Jockey was featured in Creative Review and the piece ‘String Theories’ was bought as a work of art by Miltos Manetas and toured a few exhibitions including the Venice Biennale in 2009.
